The building was placed into the existing context of the Capitoline Hill. The museum was placed where there was a courtyard before. The museum also aligns with the main axis of the urban spatial sequence that was important to understand the urban strategy of the site. The building was also taken into consideration because of the placement of a new building on a historically important site.
